Congressman calls for investigation on Sutton and House of Death

Mexico’s culture of corruption is synonymous with the drug dealers, Federales as well as the government. It is no secret business south of the border is handled with a greasy handshake full of money, but what’s surprising to most Americans are the major trade deals cut to benefit our neighbor to the south.

Why has America bent over backwards to create free trade and open borders with such an uncooperative neighbor? What has Mexico given up for the sake of our benefit? Still thinking? It could take awhile.

Mexico is a country filled with natural resources. There is plenty of fertile land for crops, it lays claim to a massive amount of oil and contains thousands of miles of sandy beaches for tourists to frolic on. So why does this country, so close to the successes of its North American neighbor continue to stagnate in corruption and remain an oligarchy?

For the meantime America is the sole superpower. But unlike the past, American administrations have made mistakes and those blunders translated into some bad deals for the American people.

So where did it begin to go wrong?

Beginning in 2002/03 the American government was in the business of trying to catch the bad guys in Juarez and in the midst of catching the murderous cartel members, ICE found itself involved in a dozen murders. Keep reading

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the Secure Communities initiative nabbed more than 111,000 criminal illegal aliens since its inception one year ago.

The debut program is a partnership between ICE and local law enforcement agencies that uses biometrics to identify and remove criminal aliens.

Secure Communities operates jointly between DHS, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and participating law enforcement agencies to check the digital fingerprints of illegals arrested and booked into local level against DHS “biometrics-based immigration records in addition to FBI databases.” This process allows ICE to take appropriate action to ensure that dangerous criminal aliens are not released back into communities.

The new law enforcement tool classifies illegal immigrants into three categories; level one crime includes murder, rape and kidnapping; level two and three include burglary and property type of crimes.

The first year of Secure Communities netted approximately 11,000 undocumented aliens with level one crimes, DHS also claims 1,900 of those criminals have already been deported.

“Secure Communities is one of the programs that enhance our efforts to keep the peace in the largest urban area in Texas,” said Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. “My department was the first local law enforcement agency in the country to adopt the program.” Keep reading

Congress created 287g in 1996 as program to enhance the cooperation of local law enforcement agencies and federal immigration services. In an effort to pander to the Latino organizations that helped propel Obama into the White House, the reigns of 287(g) rules are being pulled back.

Despite unsubstantiated criticism from civil liberty groups, 287(g) remains an effective piece of legislation assisting local law enforcement with illegal immigration crime-fighting tools.

Protecting the homeland remains a top priority for many federal and local agencies and like many arms of law enforcement many tweaks have been implemented along the way.

According to Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) more than 81,000 immigration arrests were made by 287(g) officers during January 2006 and November 2008. Keep reading

Approximately 40 miles north of the U.S./Mexican border officials nabbed 20 illegal aliens attempting to break into the country via panga boat.

California Border Patrol agents greeted the illegals when they arrived on the sand at South Ponto Beach, Carlsbad. Among them were 16 males and four female illegal immigrants including a suspected MS-13 gang member. Keep reading

Nearly 20 percent of illegal immigrants placed in a highly-touted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP), failed to appear in court on deportation orders.
The program which allows those caught in the U.S. illegally, to remain under the guise they will appear in court at a later date on deportation charges suffers many red herrings.
“This data is not surprising. Individuals who broke our laws to come here illegally in the first place will not automatically comply with our laws after they are caught and ordered to leave,” said a spokesperson from Congressman Lamar Smith’s-R TX office. “We cannot afford to pretend they will, particularly when history and common sense dictate otherwise.”
In a report from the Houston Chronicle, the Obama Administration promotes this “catch and release program” and didn’t request any further funding for detention beds despite a Congressional order to do so. Keep reading

It’s been a few years since the public spotlight has been shown on McGonigle Canyon, in San Diego, but the ‘dirty secret’ has returned and the illegal migrant camp is complete with prostitution. The underbelly of San Diego has again reared its ugly head.

Many of the illegal migrants hail from the Mexican state of Oaxaca where they live in a very similar environment in shanty towns along the sides of the hills.

“This is not a lot different than how many of them live back home in some of the poorest parts of Mexico,” says Jeff Schwilk founder of the San Diego Minutemen. “They don’t mind living rent free in the canyons; it allows them to send all their earnings back home to their families.”

Area resident who has been affected by this situation before, Julie Adams, explains many of the workers who call McGonigle Canyon home make more than $100 per day or $2,000 per month, tax free. “They could easily afford an apartment if they wanted to.”

Law enforcement disagrees. “If they are not legal, they lack the proper documentation to secure an apartment,” says Capt. Miguel Rosario of the San Diego Police Department.

This is where the barriers begin. Concerned citizens take a hard-line approach and want the illegal immigration problem and crime in the canyon dealt with by law enforcement, period. Most agree that many American’s simply do not want to know what is going on in canyons like McGonigle. It’s just too unpleasant.

However, law enforcement looks at this issue much differently. Capt. Rosario believes the canyon dwellers have no choice in their living situation and looks to the lack of low-income housing in the region as a problem.

“There is no dialog about the migrants living in the canyon,” he said.

Immigration activists like the Minutemen couldn’t disagree more; they feel their efforts to assist a cash-strapped police department with credible intelligence are mostly ignored and even criticized due to the strong influence of the Mexican activists in the San Diego city government.

As far as the victims in most recent case, most agree it would not be the suspected illegal pimp/john and prostitute.’ J.C. Playford a freelance video journalist was charged Saturday evening with a misdemeanor assault after he called authorities.

“These two admitted they were illegally in this country and the girl said she was a prostitute who charged $30. I have the tape to prove it,” he explains. Playford makes the credible point that it would be awfully hard to chase the alleged criminals, continue filming 30-40-feet behind and take the time to beat up the illegal male. Keep reading

Say it ain’t so Joe; the Obama Administration is planning to strip America’s Sheriff of the ability to deal with the staggering illegal immigration problems Arizona continues to fight.

Not only is Arizona home to the second highest kidnappings in the world, the deluge of crime spills over into local communities. In an effort to protect Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has used Federal Law 287g to alleviate the ever-growing problems and protect its residents.

In a joint statement, Rep. Trent Franks-AZ and Lamar Smith-TX urged the Obama Administration and Department of Homeland Security to rethink their position on 287g regarding Maricopa County.

“The key to combating illegal immigration is federal, state and local cooperation,” Smith and Franks said. “This is why we believe it is crucial for the federal government to continue to support individuals like Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the implementation of agreements under section 287g, which provides for the Department of Homeland Security to delegate authority to enforce federal immigration laws to state and local officials.”

According to Arizona state data, more than 33 percent of inmates in Maricopa County Sheriff facilities are legal residents, while more than 53 percent of violent crimes committed in the county are perpetrated by illegal aliens. Keep reading
