Boxer flip flops on PAYGO and votes for unfunded stimulus 2.0

A few short days ago Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) voted for pay-as-you go legislation – in which she referred to as a way to “help us maintain fiscal discipline while we continue the hard work of rebuilding America’s economy,” and she broke her promise to her Californian constituents by voting for the new $15 billion stimulus bill disguised as a ‘jobs bill.’

This was the first test legislators faced on their new pay-as-you-go rule and they quickly moved to break the promise of paying for all new bills by cutting other programs or raising taxes.
Last month Boxer and her Democrat friends voted for the PAYGO legislation in order to provide political cover for another vote to raise the national debt ceiling by $1.9 trillion to a record $14.3 trillion. This ballooning debt measure was needed after the Democrats maxed-out the government’s credit card in order to pay out $787 billion for the overrated stimulus package.
“It’s inexplicable that Senator Boxer voted to waive the same law that she applauded the President for reinstating just four weeks earlier. This hypocrisy highlights why Barbara Boxer is facing the toughest re-election battle of her career,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokeswoman Amber Marchand. “Voters are tired of the out-of-control spending from the Democrat-controlled Congress and they are looking for real change in Washington this November.”
Boxer said on MSNBC that she “believed in PAYGO. If I want to spend something then I’ve got to cut something or figure out a way top for it.” Keep reading

Boxer touts $787 billion stimulus and San Diego’s one new job

Senator Barbara Boxer-D CA tried to pass off an infusion of cash into 50 San Diego companies as stimulus money. However, what San Diego got was more Obama fuzzy math and one new job.

Speaking to a group of people at University of California San Diego, Boxer talked about the great new research projects making their way into San Diego business sector. What she failed to point out was that the $45 million in funds came from the National Institute of Health grants – not the $787 billion stimulus.

Local news station KUSI was quick to report San Diego has created just one new job with money from the stimulus boondoggle. Boxer claimed that there would be 16,000 new jobs in San Diego alone, but that didn’t pass the KUSI smell test.

The job in question was given to a neuro-oncologist doctor who will be researching brain tumors, according to UCSD. Keep reading

$787 billion jolt to economy falls flat

The $787 billion stimulus package the country could not survive without in February fell flat as President Obama’s top economic aide said the package has already seen its biggest impact on the economy.

Christina Romer, chair of the Council of Economic Advisors explained, the $194 billion spent in the second and third quarters of this year provided the largest bang and any additional money infused into the economy would not contribute to any significant growth in the economy next year.

In other words, the stimulus failed.

In a meeting with a congressional panel, Romer said the impact of the stimulus will continue to level off.

Romer also pointed out the $787 billion saved or created 600,000 to 1.5 million jobs. She also warned the congressional panel that unemployment would hover around the 10 percent mark through the end of 2010.

The grim unemployment numbers will further dampen economic recovery and slow growth for the average American looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Obama proposes $250 stimulus checks for seniors

The White House has announced a new program to help seniors next year. In lieu of a cost-of-living increase in their monthly Social Security checks, the Obama Administration has asked that $250 checks be sent out to curb the soon to be outcry.

For the first time in years seniors will not get a cost-of-living increase inserted into the monthly checks. Last year the Bush Administration doled out a 5.8 percent increase to Social Security checks.

Responding to concern that is sure to cause hardship, the President has decided to address the issue head on. “Even as we seek to bring about recovery, we must act on behalf of those hardest hit by this recession,” Obama stated. Keep reading

ACORN hands out tax evasion and under-age sex business advice

As news broke today about the Association of Community Organization Reform Now (ACORN) offering tax and loan advice to an alleged self-admitted pimp and prostitute as to how to obtain a government loan for a brothel, the story fell on deaf ears with the main-stream media.

To top it off this undercover couple, a 20-year-old journalism student and filmmaker, James O’Keefe, stated they intended to bring under-age illegal El Salvadorians girls to perform sex tricks. The ACORN employees are allegedly shown on tape telling the couple to change the name of prostitution to performing arts in order to secure government funding and file tax returns.

ACORN is a federally-funded organization known to have ties with the Democrat party as well as President Obama. The dog and pony show was caught on tape at a Baltimore, Maryland ACORN office. To view the interview go to; BigGovernment.com

Just when you think it couldn’t get worse, the ACORN employees are caught on tape listening to the undercover pimp say; “These girls are like 14, how can we trust them?” Keep reading

Tea party wrap-up (part three)

The day-long Tea Party rally in Sacramento fired up more than 10,000 Patriots and dispelled myths and argued facts about a variety of hot-button issues, including the plight of Central California farmers, logging industry, health care and cape-and-trade.

Longtime motivational speaker and probable California congressional candidate Mason Weaver revved up the crowd with his humor and more importantly, candor.

Weaver, who happens to be black, says “we are all American’s no hyphen required.”

He went on to explain how the current administration is busy taking away basic freedoms and compared the current  administration to plantation owners. “You have 100 percent employment, you have a house, you have food, but what they forget to remind you of is you have no freedom!”

“American’s voted for hope and change, but what they got was rope and chains,” Weaver shouted to the excited audience. “If this is a mob, where do I sign up?” Keep reading

Tea Party Patriots sound off in Sacramento (Part Two)

Kicking off the patriotic ceremony was a dramatic tribute to the veterans and those serving in the military –Americanism was in the air. Thousands of tea-party attendees stood at the steps of the California state capital, each with their own reasons for taking time from their day to listen and learn.

Key Note Speaker, Mark Meckler, national coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots explained that this event was not about any single event, but a culmination of issues that threaten California’s very existence.

He explained that third generation families of truckers, loggers and farmers are going out of business because of California’s strangling regulations. “I’m very concerned and wanted to bring everyone together. There is just too much government and they need to get out of the way.”

It is clear the state is in trouble. California sits at the bottom of the list in education and cost of living remains the highest in the country. Unemployment is higher than the national average at nearly 12 percent. Keep reading

Tea Party Patriots take California’s capital by storm (Part One

Stimulus money finds their way to rapists and murderers

“Nobody messes with Joe,” said President Obama about the vice president. When it comes to protecting the $787 billion of stimulus money, eagle-eye Biden was supposed to monitor all the money being sent out. Unbeknownst to the vice president, the Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has sent out nearly $1 million to convicted criminals across the country.

In a report from the Boston Herald, the Social Security Inspector General, is now looking into the nearly 4,000 criminals who received $250 checks that were sent out to those residing behind bars.

Spokesperson from the Republican National Committee Sara Sendek said, “President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus bill has done more to help convicted criminals than it has to actually boost our economy and create jobs.”

I guess crime does pay.

According to a Social Security representative, generally the incarcerated are not able to receive any benefits and none of the prisoners receive monthly Social Security checks which means they should not get any stimulus money.

At least nine of the inmates in Massachusetts that received $250 checks were convicted on crimes ranging from rape to first-degree murder, according to the State Department of Correction.

The $250 checks were mailed out to Social Security beneficiaries, federal railroad retirees and veterans as part of the $13 billion in the Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The Social Security office says this mistake is relatively small in comparison the overall $787 billion package.

Are these really the people we want running an additional one-sixth of our economy via health care?
